"By discovering the photographic work of Xavier Rey, we swear that the French uses film. However, this Bordeaux photographer born in 1974 so to perfection the art of digital black and white, combined with a long exposure time.
A sign of this time of a haul, we discover landscapes of the French Atlantic coast, where the quilted soft, shimmering and vapor de la mer contrasts with the texture rugeuse a rock in the bay of Biarritz or rust an old dock access. Pitfall flush on the mist of water at dusk, wood poles planted on a deserted beach, the architect of the framework avoids clichés by the invariable use of square format and a subtle shift symmetry. So it comes naturally interested in building element. In testimony here and there a bridge or highway driving drainage in the Arcachon basin. Taken down and wide angle, these contemporary buildings below to reveal their vertical and imposing severe. Using a strict economy of means the balance of lines and masses, density gray and Gaming contrast, the photographer offers a contemplative space suspended in time, between dogs and wolves."
